Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Your new role
You will support, develop and maintain the IT infrastructure, working closely with the whole organisation, playing a key role in the technical delivery of IT infrastructure. Part of the role will include supervising and monitoring engineers within the team. My client is looking for a strong generalist with a strong background in networking, managing servers and security. The team provide critical support to the organisation as well as implementing preventative measures and identifying and dealing with any vulnerabilities.

What you'll need to succeed

• Takes ownership of problems and proactively resolves technical problems, ensuring that technical solutions continue to meet business requirements.
• Ability to manage transition and deliver technology solutions
• Ability to develop a comprehensive understanding of all business plans, and relate that knowledge to identified operational and IT related initiatives
• Knowledge necessary to propose relevant IT responses to changing business and project risks
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills - including the ability to effectively communicate concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong skills as a negotiator, to facilitate commitment to change and service improvements with the appropriate level of judgment and maturity
• High degree of initiative, dependability and ability to work with little supervision
• Supplier management & governance experience.
• ITIL qualification and experience of Change, Incident, Release Management
• Awareness of Security Standards - NIST, Cyber Essentials.
• Strong investigative, analysis, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to analyse complex business requirements, requests or problems and translate into appropriate actions and solutions.
• Experience working in a 24/7 environment
• Strong Knowledge of Firewall Security
• Strong Knowledge of Endpoint Protection solutions
• Strong Knowledge of backup systems
• Strong Knowledge of Windows / Unix environments
• Strong Knowledge of Cloud Computing platforms
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory
• Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 platform
