Senior Infrastructure Engineer - Manchester - Up to £65,000 + Bonus

The Company:

Lorien Global are supporting a well established organisation in their search for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer. With a focus on stability, automation, and scalability, this role plays a key part in ensuring the strength and reliability of the organisation's group wide infrastructure.

The Role:

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you'll take ownership of infrastructure builds, lead automation efforts, and oversee key deployments that underpin the organisation's day-to-day operations and future growth. You'll work in a hybrid environment with a strong emphasis on VMware at scale, while mentoring junior engineers and encouraging knowledge sharing across the team.

This role offers a great mix of hands-on technical work and leadership responsibility, ideal for someone who enjoys optimising environments and guiding others.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver scalable, resilient infrastructure builds across virtualised platforms
• Lead automation and deployment processes to support continuous improvement
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
• Maintain and enhance Windows Server and Linux-based systems
• Oversee core services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and IIS
• Apply solid networking knowledge to troubleshoot and support infrastructure needs
• Operate within ITIL processes to ensure consistency and quality

The Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with VMware technologies at scale
• Skilled in automation tools and infrastructure scripting
• Solid understanding of Windows Server (2016+) and CentOS/Linux environments
• Confident managing enterprise-level Windows roles and services
• Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Background in structured IT support environments with ITIL best practices
