We are on the lookout for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a software services company in Edinburgh. Due to continued growth across the organisation both in the UK & US they are looking for someone with specialist knowledge in VMware, Disaster Recovery and Hyper V. You will help drive the expansion of their SaaS-based platform and applications and play a key role in their continued success.

Key Responsibilities include:

Responsible for server hardware configuration and provisioning to provide a secure and performant compute platform.
Maintaining security and integrity of network infrastructure and services such that unauthorised activity can be recognised and prevented.
Managing secure and resilient datacentres to support products and internal services.
Reviewing and recommending new technologies with the aim of improving existing services.
Training and mentoring junior colleagues to raise their levels of expertise and minimise the number of required ticket escalations.In order to be successful in the role, candidate's ideally need:

Excellent Problem solving using logical and systematic approaches
Ability to understand the long term impact of decisions
Proficient knowledge and understanding of network security tools and security practices
Solid understanding of computer network architecture
Awareness of Disaster Recovery planning and implementation
Awareness of Business continuity planning and implementationExperience of the following technologies:

VMware
Hyper-V, SCVMM & VCentrer
SSL, VPN and IP Sub-netting.
Microsoft Windows server operating systems
Microsoft Azure
Mobile Device Management
Server Virtualisation technologies
