Job Description - Senior Land and Development Surveyor
7 months contract with a local authority
Rate: £425 per day Umbrella
Summary
This role involves delivering expert property development, asset management, and estate management services for the Borough Council's diverse property portfolio, which includes commercial, residential, and agricultural assets. The successful candidate will spearhead development initiatives, regeneration projects, property transactions, and strategic asset management efforts. The aim is to enhance income generation, unlock development potential, and support the Council's broader regeneration and investment goals.
Responsibilities
Offer expert development advice for the Council's commercial and residential properties.
Conduct development appraisals and feasibility studies on both brownfield and greenfield sites.
Formulate strategies to maximize capital returns through property disposals and development opportunities.
Negotiate joint venture agreements to facilitate regeneration and development projects.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the value, efficiency, and performance of the Council's property portfolio.
Provide property and development expertise to support regeneration initiatives.
Requirements:
Essential Experience Required
Extensive experience in managing commercial property portfolios.
Proficiency in property acquisitions, disposals, asset management, and development activities.
Demonstrated experience in estate management and handling property contract issues.
Proven ability to lead complex property negotiations and transactions.
Strong history of achieving results through both individual efforts and teamwork.
Essential Qualifications Required
Membership in the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) with relevant post-qualification experience.
Professional development in estate management, valuation, or development surveying.
Project Management qualification or equivalent experience.
Additional Information
The role involves working in office, site, and stakeholder environments.
Regular site inspections and property visits are required.
Participation in meetings with tenants, developers, consultants, Members, and stakeholders is necessary.
Occasional evening meetings may be required.
Travel across the Borough is part of the job responsibilities.
The position is a 7-month contract with a local authority, offering a rate of £425 per day Umbrella.
Payments are made on a bi-weekly schedule.
