Your new company This is an excellent opportunity to join a large and well-regarded public sector legal team in West Yorkshire. The organisation is continuing to modernise and grow its legal services function, with a strong emphasis on delivering high-quality support to frontline safeguarding services. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where your work will have a direct impact on protecting vulnerable individuals within the community. There are two positions in this team available, either on a full-time or part-time (24 hours) basis.
Your new role You will join a specialist Safeguarding team, managing your own caseload and providing legal advice on a range of complex matters relating to adult social care. For those working in adult-focused roles, your caseload will primarily involve litigation in the Court of Protection, including:
Managing cases from inception through to conclusion Providing clear and practical legal advice to clients Conducting your own advocacy at hearings Instructing counsel where requiredThis is a varied role, offering a mix of remote working, office attendance, and travel to courts and other locations.
What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified (or soon to qualify) Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEx Fellow with relevant litigation and advocacy rights. You should ideally have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Court of Protection / Mental Capacity Act 2005 Care Act 2014 Mental Health Act 1983 Community care law Advocacy within safeguarding or family proceedings Public law, including judicial reviewNewly qualified candidates with relevant training and a strong interest in safeguarding law are encouraged to apply.
