You’ll be the financial heartbeat of the firm, ensuring all cashiering processes run smoothly and in full compliance with the Law Society of Scotland's Accounts Rules.

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing daily legal cashiering operations – ensuring transactions are accurate, timely, and fully compliant
• Handling client and office account transactions, including receipts, payments, bank transfers, and reconciliations
• Keeping client ledgers accurate and up to date
• Collaborating with fee earners and support teams to resolve queries and ensure seamless billing processes
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns, reconciling bank statements, and generating financial reports
• Supporting the year-end accounting process and liaising with auditors
• Managing relationships with banks and overseeing the firm’s financial accounts
• Playing a key role in financial risk management and internal audit procedures
• Identifying and implementing improvements to systems and processes

What We’re Looking For:

• Solid experience as a Legal Cashier, ideally within a law firm setting
• In-depth knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules
• Proficiency in legal accounting software (e.g., Eclipse, LawWare, or similar)
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management and organisation skills
• A proactive communicator who’s confident working across teams and resolving issues independently
