What you'll do:

As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll be integral to shaping the legal framework of this innovative organisation based in Birmingham. Collaborating across departments, you'll ensure commercial agreements are robustly negotiated, regulatory compliance is upheld, and intellectual property is protected. Your expertise will drive business initiatives forward while supporting governance frameworks and policy development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating technology contracts (including SaaS agreements).
• Advising on regulatory compliance within the energy sector and tech-driven businesses.
• Safeguarding intellectual property assets across all business activities.
• Guiding stakeholders through dispute resolution processes with professionalism.
• Supporting governance frameworks and contributing to policy development.
• Providing actionable advice on data protection matters (UK GDPR).
• Proactively identifying risks and recommending effective solutions.

What You'll Bring:

You will be UK qualified with at least 3 years' post-qualification experience in commercial law (private practice or in-house). You'll have:

• Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating technology contracts (e.g., SaaS agreements).
• Strong knowledge of data protection legislation (UK GDPR) in commercial contexts.
• Experience advising on intellectual property rights for tech products/services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
• A proactive approach to balancing risk management with commercial objectives.
• Passion for driving industry transformation toward sustainability goals.
