Job Description - Senior Legal Counsel - Transformation and Governance
Your new company
A global technology and consulting organisation is seeking an experienced Legal & Governance SME to support a high-profile transformation programme on a 3-month contract in a mostly remote capacity, with an ad hoc presence in London.
Working as part of a strategic design and transformation initiative, you will play a key role in assessing current legal and governance operating models, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting the development of future-state frameworks and processes. This is an excellent opportunity to work with senior stakeholders on a business-critical programme within a complex and evolving environment.
Your new role
You will support a strategic legal and governance transformation programme, helping to shape future operating models, strengthen governance frameworks and improve ways of working across legal, risk and compliance functions.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting operating model and governance transformation initiatives Assessing current processes, controls and governance arrangements, identifying areas for improvement Advising on governance, legal operations, risk and compliance matters Facilitating stakeholder workshops and gathering business requirements Developing recommendations, roadmaps and executive-level reporting Supporting process optimisation and change implementation activities
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced (10+ years as a guideline) legal, governance, risk or compliance professional with a strong background in transformation and organisational improvement.
You will demonstrate:
Experience delivering legal, governance, risk or compliance transformation programmes Strong understanding of governance frameworks, risk management and control environments Excellent stakeholder management skills, including engagement with senior leaders The ability to lead workshops, analyse complex issues and deliver practical recommendations Strong communication, presentation and problem-solving skills A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environmentExperience within regulated sectors, legal operations or large-scale business transformation programmes would be advantageous.
