We are seeking an experienced Senior Lighting Consultant to join our growing Lighting team. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package. The role can be based in Nottingham, Birmingham, or Leicestershire, with flexible working arrangements available.
As a Senior Lighting Consultant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments across a diverse range of projects. You will also manage projects, mentor junior team members, and contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the Lighting team.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver street lighting designs, lighting impact assessments, and daylight assessments. Conduct lighting analysis, modelling, and surveys, including mitigation strategies. Produce high-quality reports, design models, drawings, and calculations. Use software such as Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD. Undertake site visits, surveys, and investigations as required. Liaise with clients, planning authorities, highway authorities, and other stakeholders. Ensure compliance with quality assurance procedures and industry standards. Support business development activities, including fee proposals and client care.
Project Management:
Manage lighting projects across various sectors, ensuring delivery within agreed budgets and timelines. Prepare and agree on fee proposals, project scopes, and delivery schedules. Build and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for future work.
Team and Line Management:
Mentor and develop junior team members, including graduates and apprentices. Conduct performance reviews, training plans, and regular one-to-one meetings. Promote a positive and inclusive team culture, focusing on employee wellbeing.
Qualifications
Proven experience in lighting design, impact assessments, and/or daylight assessments. Proficiency in Dialux Evo, Lighting Reality, SketchUp, and AutoCAD. Strong project management skills, including budgeting and client liaison. Experience mentoring and supporting junior team members. Understanding of health and safety responsibilities, including CDM Regulations 2015. Valid CSCS card and a full UK driving licence. Willingness to travel nationally for site visits and meetings.
Day-to-Day
Develop and deliver lighting designs and assessments for a variety of projects. Conduct site visits and surveys to gather data and provide practical solutions. Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders to ensure project success. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Mentor junior team members and contribute to the team's professional development.
