Senior Management Accountant

CMA are supporting a fast-growing national group in the financial services sector with the recruitment of a Senior Management Accountant. The business has expanded rapidly in recent years through acquisition and organic growth, now operating on a significant scale with strong ambitions for the future. This is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic, evolving environment where finance is seen as a key business partner, not just a back-office function. This role will suit someone practice trained, looking to make their first or second move.

What will the Senior Management Accountant role involve?

• Preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and journal postings.

• Production of statutory accounts and support through external audit.

• Continuous improvement of reporting processes and financial accuracy.

• Partnering with operational MDs to provide clear variance analysis, cost reviews, and commercial insight.

• Contribution to project accounting including acquisitions, integrations, and ad hoc analysis.

• Acting as cover for payroll management responsibilities when required.

Suitable Candidate for the Senior Management Accountant vacancy:

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)

• Skilled in Excel and PowerPoint, with confidence in presenting financials clearly to non-finance colleagues.

• Adaptable, collaborative, and commercially minded, with the ability to thrive in a changing, ambitious group.

• Previous exposure to financial services would be advantageous but is not essential.

Additional benefits and information for the role of Senior Management Accountant:

• Salary £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience.

• Hybrid working arrangement, with 2–3 days per week in the Southampton office.
