Job Description - Senior M&A Associate

As a Senior Associate in Marktlink’s Midlands offices you will play a pivotal role in our continued rapid growth as a leading full-service M&A advisory firm. 
 
You will be instrumental in growing Marktlink’s presence in the Midlands market, building relationships across a diverse range of industries. You will work as part of a deal team that guides entrepreneurs in their strategic plans, including buying or selling a company. 

You are financially and analytically strong, but above all commercially and socially skilled. You have several years of experience as an M&A professional and/or are a full-qualified Chartered Accountant capable of demonstrating clear commerciality and a desire to perform in a fast-paced, deal-focused environment. 

Your success in driving deals and further expanding our market footprint will unlock a swift and clear path to promotion when you demonstrate your contribution to growing a successful team. In this vein we are looking for the best prospective M&A professionals ready to seize this opportunity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

As a Senior Associate, you will play a key role in business origination, conversion and execution. You will be responsible for building your professional network and building on the profile of Marktlink in the UK M&A community. Marktlink provides the opportunity to be actively involved in the full deal lifecycle, taking on meaningful responsibility - supporting your progression toward becoming a dealmaker. Moreover, you will take a proactive role in contributing to the firm’s dynamic and high-performing culture.As a Senior M&A Associate you can broadly expect the following:
  • Performing business, financial and market analysis;
  • Preparing company valuations and deal documentation;
  • Getting to know and approaching potential buyers and sellers;
  • Building and maintaining the (Marktlink) network and developing your own professional network;
  • Preparing financing applications and solving financing issues;
  • Providing broad support to the senior team members during projects.
  • Master’s degree in Finance or equivalent (ACA / CFA);
  • You have a minimum of three years work experience in M&A or can demonstrate strong commercial experience with clear motivations to pursue a successful career in mid-market M&A;
  • You are a social and entrepreneurial person who is commercially minded;
  • In addition to being analytically strong, you are punctual and goal-oriented;
  • Demonstrable experience working with C-Suite / business owners / decision makers is an advantage;
  • The ability to build strong relationships and excellent communication skills is key;
  • An excellent command of the English language.
