Are you an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer? Do you have experience working within a highly regulated industry such as Aerospace, Defence, Nuclear, Marine or Land Systems? I want to talk to you! I am looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join an exciting client of mine who are a leading manufacturer in the Aerospace sector. In this role, you will develop engineering solutions across the product lifecycle to meet requirements and standards. You will design and test aerospace components, collaborating with teams to create reliable, innovative products under strict constraints.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description

Focus on specialised or complex aerospace products and systems, developing conceptual designs and modelling alternatives.
Conduct scientific analysis and predictive modelling to evaluate and optimise design outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams, customers, and suppliers across mechanical, systems, and hardware disciplines within the organisation.
Manage and validate formal requirements, demonstrating compliance through design documentation and verification methods like testing and analysis.
Support project planning, track progress, and contribute to team development, continuous improvement, and process efficiency as a subject matter expert.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Essential Experience/Skills/Qualifications

Proficient in 3D modelling and 2D drafting with GD&T expertise, ideally using SolidWorks or AutoCAD Inventor, with knowledge of other tools beneficial.
Skilled in configuration control, change management, and using configuration management systems for design and production.
Experienced in Finite Element Analysis, Design FMEAs, and leading teams to deliver compliant designs on time.
Strong communication skills for conveying complex concepts, preparing reports, and making data-driven decisions to achieve high-quality outcomes.
