My client provides high-quality services to a broad portfolio of commercial clients. With a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement, they are expanding their design team and seeking a dynamic Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to help lead their mechanical engineering operations.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with over 10 years of industry experience. This role will involve leading a team of design engineers, delivering high-quality mechanical designs for a range of commercial projects, and driving improvements in design processes and procedures. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills, taking initiative to streamline workflows and ensure optimal project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead a small team of mechanical designers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.

· Develop detailed mechanical designs for HVAC, plumbing, and associated building services across commercial projects.

· Review and improve existing design processes to enhance efficiency and output quality.

· Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to ensure seamless project delivery.

· Manage design documentation including drawings, specifications, and reports.

· Participate in project planning, client meetings, and design reviews.

· Ensure designs comply with relevant regulations, standards, and sustainability requirements.

· Identify and implement best practices in design and engineering processes.

· Conduct technical evaluations and risk assessments during the design phase.

Required Experience:

· Minimum 10 years of mechanical design engineering experience within building services or commercial projects.

· Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring small design teams.

· Strong background in HVAC systems, plumbing design, energy-efficient solutions, and relevant mechanical systems.

· Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and mechanical calculation tools.

· Track record of improving or creating design procedures and documentation standards.

Required Qualifications:

· Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

· Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working toward it (preferred).

· Valid UK driver’s license.
