Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £67,500 per annum
Hours: Days, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full-time, Permanent

We're looking for someone who isn't afraid to get stuck in, can lead by example and has the technical knowledge to support a busy engineering department.

THE ROLE OF THE SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in overseeing daily engineering activities, supporting the maintenance team and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.

Your responsibilities will include:

Leading, supporting and mentoring members of the engineering team.

Organising and prioritising maintenance activities to minimise production downtime.

*

Remaining hands-on with machinery maintenance, fault finding and engineering activities.

*

Supporting planned preventative maintenance and TPM activities.

*

Identifying recurring equipment failures and implementing long-term improvements.

*

Conducting root cause analysis.

*

Coordinating engineering shift reports and maintenance documentation.

THE IDEAL SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:

We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with strong technical knowledge and the confidence to take on additional responsibility.

Ideally, you'll have:

Previous experience in a mechanical maintenance or engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment, including apprenticeship/NVQ Level 3 at a minimum.

Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.

*

Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

*

An understanding of electrical equipment and control systems.

*

Experience supporting, mentoring or leading engineering teams.

*

Experience with preventative maintenance and continuous improvement.

Previous leadership experience would be advantageous, although engineers who are ready to progress into a more senior position are encouraged to apply.

PACKAGE OFFERED TO THE SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER:

* 38 hours per week – DAY SHIFTS!

Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 3:30pm

*

Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm

Start and finish times may vary depending on business requirements.

£67,500 annual salary

*

Permanent, full-time position

*

Early Friday finish

*

33 days' annual leave, including bank holidays

*
