You understand and have worked within structured quality environments, ideally aligned with ISO/IEC 17025 or similar frameworks. Comfortable carrying out uncertainty evaluations, with practical experience applying GUM-based methods. Experience using calibration or laboratory management systems and can confidently interpret and work with technical data. Approach problems logically, with a methodical and analytical mindset. Confident operating independently, including representing the business at both company and customer sites. Communicate clearly, stay organised, and are proficient with standard IT tools and systems. You are proactive, adaptable, professional in presentation, and motivated to develop your skills further. Any prior experience leading or guiding others would be a strong advantage. Senior Metrology Engineer Responsibilities Support the Head of Calibration in managing day-to-day laboratory operations and team performance. Plan and prioritise workflow to ensure efficient delivery of a high-quality, cost-effective calibration service. Carry out and lead calibration activities across mechanical and dimensional instrumentation, including method development and validation. Ensure full compliance with internal procedures, maintaining traceability to international standards and ISO/IEC 17025 requirements. Review and authorise calibration certificates, investigate non-conformances, and implement corrective actions where required. Provide technical leadership in dimensional metrology, including uncertainty analysis and maintenance of uncertainty budgets. Mentor staff, support audit activities, and help maintain laboratory systems, equipment, and environmental controls to ensure optimal performance.
