Your role and responsibilities 

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

• Support the Home First team with assessments, reviews and interventions.
• Work alongside customers to identify strengths, goals and outcomes that promote independence and wellbeing.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with customers, their families and carers to deliver personalised support.
• Collaborate with social care colleagues, health professionals and voluntary sector partners to provide joined-up, integrated care.
• Contribute to a service that focuses on prevention, recovery and enabling people to live safely and independently at home for as long as possible.

Through your work, you'll make a meaningful difference to the lives of people across Suffolk.

You will need 

• A recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and current HCPC registration.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills when working with customers, families, carers, advocates and professional partners.
• The ability to respond effectively to urgent priorities within a fast-paced, team-based environment.
• Resilience, adaptability and a positive approach when managing complex situations and competing demands.

Home First is a short-term reablement and assessment service supporting people across Suffolk to remain independent in their own homes. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, the team focuses on recovery, strengths-based practice and helping people achieve the best possible outcomes.
