Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer

Data centres are one of the fastest moving spaces in engineering right now, and this is a genuine chance to be part of a consultancy that's thriving in it. Our client is a multi disciplinary building services consultancy with a growing, highly regarded Mission Critical team, delivering complex, high profile data centre projects for major international clients.

They're expanding fast and looking for a Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a talented, close knit MEP team. You'll get real ownership of design work, exposure to some of the most technically demanding projects in the sector, and a clear progression path.

What you'll be doing

Producing conceptual and detailed electrical design solutions in line with client briefs
Carrying out electrical services design calculations using Trimble (Amtech), Hevacomp and lighting design software
Supporting Medium Voltage design and utility provider point of connection processes
Working across MV/LV distribution, substations, UPS, generators, small power, lighting, lightning protection and earthing for mission critical facilities
Taking projects from feasibility studies and concept design through to detailed design
Producing electrical specifications and schedules
Building strong working relationships with architects, structural engineers, project managers and quantity surveyors
Acting as a technical point of contact for clients
What we're looking for

Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline
Solid data centre or mission critical design experience
Working toward Chartered status, or already chartered (CIBSE / IET)
Strong knowledge of MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators and standby power systems
Familiarity with data centre tier rating systems and hyperscale or colocation requirements
Working knowledge of Revit and BIM workflows (ACC, BIM 360 and Navisworks are a bonus)
A collaborative, client facing approach and strong communication skills
What's in it for you

Salary £50,000 to £80,000 DOE
Annual bonus, typically £1,000 to £5,000
