Senior Paraplanner

Our client, a well established Wealth Management firm are seeking a driven and technically skilled Paraplanner with experience in a financial advisory environment.

As Paraplanner you will sit between the adviser and the administrative team both being heavily influenced by the adviser and their discussions with the clients. The Paraplanner is able to support with technical knowledge, usually matching the adviser own qualification, for which the minimum requirement is the Diploma in Financial Planning.

Role Responsibilities:

• Produce reports for annual reviews
• Produce reports for new business recommendations
• Produce addendum or acknowledgement top up letters based on existing advice
• Produce and assist with illustrations where necessary
• Used to working closely with advisers and administrative support
• Attending adviser client meetings to hear discussion first hand and take notes where necessary

Key Skills & Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience in a paraplanning role within a UK financial advisory or wealth management firm.
• Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (DipPFS or equivalent)
• Good understanding of pension legislation
• Able to complete basic inheritance tax calculations
• Able to produce investment bond chargeable gain calculation
• A good understanding of Cashflow modelling principles
• Intermediate computer skills using Word, Excel etc.
• Happy to work on a variety of platforms
• Good knowledge of investment solutions particularly working with discretionary fund managers and managed portfolio solutions

• A hands on approach to assisting others where help is necessary
