Senior PCB Consultant

HW Electronics Engineer for Production | 12 Month Contract | Cambridge | 3-4 Days Onsite

Join a company transforming vision into reality, developing cutting-edge technology for animal care and management. You'll be part of the team building the next generation of a connected wearable product, working within a multi-site programme alongside teams in the US and Israel.

This is a key role in the Engineering department, sitting at the intersection of NPI, production, and full product lifecycle support, working closely with R&D, contract manufacturers, and worldwide operations teams.

Responsibilities

* Lead hardware changes on new and legacy products, including EOL and layout updates

* Lead DFx and NPI procedures for new products

* Lead failure analysis and reliability testing across critical product design aspects

* Act as component engineer for new and existing products

* Support design validation to ensure products meet quality and reliability standards

* Support worldwide production floors and report results to peers and management

* Lead compliance activities across safety and radio standards

Requirements

* Deep understanding of electronic design and DFM

* Understanding of multidisciplinary product design

* 5+ years' experience with worldwide compliance and regulations

* Knowledge of electronic components, PCB/PCBA design and assembly, batteries, RF, IR, and testing methods including ATE

* Strong hands-on hardware, embedded interfaces, and system-level integration experience

* Experience working in a matrixed, worldwide, cross-cultural organisation

* BSc in Electronics Engineering or similar

Advantageous

* 5+ years' board design experience with Altium or OrCAD

* SQA and LabVIEW knowledge

* Experience with RF communication and connected/smart products

* Experience working with subcontractors, CMOs, and procurement processes
