Job Description - Senior Pensions Administrator

Location: Godalming (100% office-based)
Salary: Up to £36,000 (dependent on experience)
Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm (37.5 hours per week)

Overview

An award-winning financial services firm is seeking experienced Pensions Administrators to support its continued growth. This is a highly technical role, ideal for professionals who take pride in delivering high-quality service and attention to detail in all aspects of pensions administration.

Working within a collaborative and high-performing team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in the end-to-end administration of a broad portfolio of pension schemes. Many clients are high-net-worth individuals, so discretion, precision, and client care are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation for consultants, including actuarial reports

  • Collate and analyse data from clients’ existing pension arrangements

  • Obtain transfer value quotes and arrange pension transfers

  • Draft and submit documents to HMRC and monitor for approval

  • Complete administrative steps related to scheme establishment

  • Register schemes and liaise with external parties

  • Draft deeds and other legal documentation

  • Provide support for special client advice cases as required

  • Maintain life cover arrangements

  • Coordinate with accountants regarding special-case transfers

  • Research and obtain investment quotations as needed

  • Calculate and process loan interest and billing

  • Monitor and report PSO transactions in line with statutory deadlines

  • Submit self-assessment tax returns and VAT returns

  • Ensure timely processing of retirement benefit payments

  • Undertake all additional administration necessary to support scheme management

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of 12 months’ pensions administration experience (DC, DB or SIPP preferred)

  • 2+ years in financial services administration

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities

  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

  • Good technical understanding and attention to detail
