Senior pensions data technician

Shape better services as a Senior Pensions Data Technician by performing complex extraction, analysis, cleansing and processing of pensions data, and processing scheme events in line with client and contractual requirements.

Job Description: Working with the Scheme Events Leads and Scheme Event Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate delivery of requirements for Scheme Events and Projects, and identifying and reporting risks and breaches immediately to line management and/or the Operational Risk & Compliance Department.

Key tasks: Leading the delivery of assigned projects and scheme events.

Promoting the provision of a first-class experience for customers and sharing knowledge and expertise with other team members.

Recording time accurately in the Workflow+ system.

Performing data processes, such as running and specifying data extracts from the administration system and performing bulk calculations in Excel.

Creating audit trails of all work and communications using the Team’s best practices.

Testing bulk communications and calculations using the Team’s best practice.

Providing project updates and time scales to Scheme Events Leads, Project Managers and Scheme Event Managers.

Identifying opportunistic income work and providing cost estimates to the client and commercial teams.

Acting as a Subject Matter Expert for large internal change and client projects.

What we’re looking for: Defined Benefit and/or Defined Contribution pensions scheme experience.

Technical pensions calculations/analysis.

Bulk data analysis.

Pension administration and work management systems.

Accuracy, attention to detail and quality management.

Excel - Demonstrate the ability to use filters, sorting, and pivot tables (rows, columns, grouping, filters and totalling).

Excel – Can use formulas including lookups, IF and nested IF statements, date calculations and formatting of cells to specific guidelines.

Excel - Can import data/text files and use data validation.

Project Management Skills.

A Level of Maths or Degree with maths element or Work experience involving complex data analysis.
