About the Organisation

A leading UK-based investment organisation is responsible for managing long-term retirement savings on behalf of millions of members. The investment function oversees asset allocation, manager selection and monitoring, risk management, responsible investment, performance reporting, and investment technology, with a strong focus on long-term value creation.

The investment arm operates as a regulated entity authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). The successful candidate will therefore be expected to comply with all relevant regulatory requirements, including the FCA’s Individual Conduct Rules.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Performance Manager to design, embed and maintain a robust performance framework across the investment function. This is a hands-on, highly visible role that combines deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement.

Operating within the second line Risk function and reporting to the Head of Risk , the role holder will provide independent performance oversight, insightful analysis, and high-quality reporting to support effective decision-making and strong performance governance across the organisation.

This is a newly created role and represents an opportunity to shape and enhance performance capability within a complex, multi-asset investment environment.

Key Responsibilities

    • Design, implement and maintain a comprehensive performance measurement and reporting framework across all asset classes.
    • Own performance and attribution methodologies, ensuring consistency, accuracy and best practice.
    • Develop and maintain a suite of performance reports and dashboards tailored to different audiences, including senior leadership and governance committees.
    • Oversee the production and timely delivery of accurate performance data and insights.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for performance-related queries across the organisation.
    • Work closely with investment teams, senior stakeholders, and the Risk and Compliance Committee to support effective oversight and decision-making.
    • Manage relationships with external performance and data service providers to ensure data quality and service standards.
    • Collaborate with junior colleagues and technology teams to enhance analytical models, systems and automated workflows.
    • Provide analytical support to the Head of Risk and broader investment team as required.
    • Contribute to a strong risk culture, including supporting the integration of ESG and climate-related considerations into performance and risk processes.

Skills and Experience

Essential:

    • Experience in asset or investment management.
    • Strong expertise in performance measurement and attribution for multi-asset portfolios.
    • Solid understanding of financial markets, investment processes and financial instruments.
    • Experience across both public and private market investments.
    • Good knowledge of investment accounting and investment data.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.

Desirable:

    • Experience with performance and investment systems such as Bloomberg, Aladdin or CEPRES.
    • Programming or advanced systems capability.
    • Performance, risk and/or investment-related professional qualifications.

Working Pattern

The role is expected to be full-time , though part-time working will be considered. The organisation operates a hybrid working model , with office attendance typically expected at least two days per week. The office is based in Canary Wharf, London .
