Senior Personal Injury Paralegal / NQ Solicitor

An opportunity has arisen at one of Exeter's very top law firms, for a Senior Paralegal or NQ Solicitor, with experience of Personal Injury work. The purpose of this role is to work as part of a team on a broad spectrum of domestic and international personal injury disputes. The overall team has 14 lawyers based here in Exeter, so it feels like a nice size to be able to share knowledge and ideas. The role will focus on providing a first-class service to clients, contributing to proactive marketing/profile raising and exceptional client management. The successful candidate will have a clear track record and will be well supported at partner level and by other fee-earners and will be joining a highly collaborative and collegiate culture.

Tasks will include:

• Advising in relation to and representing clients in travel litigation matters, whether through litigation or alternative dispute resolution, with minimal supervision.
• The work types shall include, but not limited to advice on both Claimant and Defendant personal injury matters or varying value and complexity in not only the England and Wales jurisdiction, but in cross-border matters as well.
• Taking instructions from and attending clients including file opening and internal compliance procedures;
• Progressing cases through the litigation process considering all appropriate methods of ADR
• Ad hoc general research on matters;
• Active participation in team marketing initiatives;
• Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures and client service level agreements and,
• Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions

Experience and skills required:

• Fee-earning experience within civil litigation or personal injury, at either Paralegal level or maybe as a newly-qualified Solicitor
• Previous experience in English personal injury cases is essential;
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative approach;
• Team player;
• Proven ability to take on responsibility and manage and progress files, independently where appropriate;
• Strong client focus and a commitment to service delivery;
• Drive and enthusiasm;
• Demonstrable passion for business development;
• Flexibility and a can do attitude;
• Excellent academic record;
• Experience of running cases from start to finish;
• Managing client relationships.
