Senior Planner

We're working with a well-established, employee-owned planning consultancy seeking a Senior Planner for their growing Bedford office. With over 100 professionals across several UK locations and a turnover exceeding £8 million, this multidisciplinary practice provides expert advice across planning, urban design, environmental impact, sustainability, transport, and infrastructure.

The successful Senior Planner will play a key role in delivering a broad range of projects, including residential, commercial, regeneration and mixed-use schemes, supporting clients across both the public and private sectors.

• Work on a variety of projects with the opportunity to take the lead on smaller schemes and manage planning processes from start to finish.
• Provide commercially focused planning advice to a broad client base
• Prepare high-quality planning reports, applications, and supporting documentation
• Liaise directly with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders
• Coordinate inputs from internal and external consultants
• Build long-term relationships through networking and client engagement
• Represent client interests throughout the planning process
• Play a key role in supporting the growth and success of the Bedford office

• Degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited preferred)
• Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience, ideally in consultancy or a local authority setting
• Sound understanding of the UK planning system and current policy landscape
• Strong written, verbal, and analytical communication skills
• Experience of managing multiple planning projects simultaneously
• Self-motivated, collaborative, and client-focused
• RTPI membership or working towards chartership desirable
• Living in or around the Bedford area
