An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Planner to join a leading employee -owned, planning -led consultancy in their Bedford office. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the wider consultancy’s specialist disciplines, including:

Bedford sits at the heart of the Oxford–Cambridge Growth Corridor, an area set to experience significant investment and development over the coming years. Major projects such as East West Rail, the Universal UK Resort, and several planned new settlements make Bedford an exciting place to work within the planning profession.
As a Senior Planner, you will work alongside senior colleagues while also taking responsibility for managing your own projects. Responsibilities will include:
Providing commercial planning advice to a range of clients
Preparing high -quality planning applications, reports and supporting documentation
Managing consultants within wider project teams
Engaging with local planning authorities and key stakeholders
Representing clients’ interests throughout the planning process
Supporting business development and maintaining client relationships
Contributing positively to the continued growth of the Bedford office
The successful candidate will:
Hold a degree in Town Planning or a related subject
Have at least 3 years’ professional planning experience in either the private or public sector
Possess a strong understanding of the UK planning system
Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have strong organisational and project management abilities
Be motivated, proactive and eager to contribute to a growing team
