Salary: Grade D £26,824 - £28,598 (pro-rata’d)
Hours: 15 hours per week (15.15pm – 18:15pm Monday-Friday)
Contract: Permanent
Start Date: September 12th, 2026

We are seeking to appoint an adaptable and enthusiastic Senior Playworker to lead and support our thriving After School Club.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves working with children and is passionate about creating a safe, engaging and enjoyable environment where children can learn, play and develop. The successful candidate will be organised, creative and full of ideas, with the confidence to inspire children through a range of fun and stimulating activities.
You will be responsible for supporting the social, emotional and welfare needs of children, promoting positive behaviour and ensuring that every child feels valued, included and supported. You will also build strong relationships with children, parents and colleagues and contribute positively to the wider school community.
We are looking for someone who:
• has a genuine passion for working with children;
• is enthusiastic, creative and able to plan exciting activities;
• has good standards of English and mathematics;
• can motivate and engage children of different ages and abilities;
• is patient, caring and understanding;
• has excellent organisational and communication skills;
• can work effectively as part of a team whilst also using their own initiative;
• is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Essential/Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
• Experience of working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting is desirable.
• Relevant experience in youth work, care, sports coaching or other child-centred environments will also be considered.
• Recent training relevant to the role, including First Aid and/or Level 3 Safeguarding, would be advantageous, although training can be provided for the right candidate.
• A willingness to undertake professional development and training.
