Senior Practice Accountant

Job Description

We have a very exciting new opportunity for an experienced and motivated practice accountant to join a professional, inclusive and friendly Accountancy firm based in their modern Milton Keynes office that provides high-quality accounting services to their clients.

You will have the opportunity and experience to run your own portfolio, with accomplished Book keeping, VAT knowledge, advanced Excel skills and sound working knowledge of Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.

Attention to detail and the ability to manage your time to meet deadlines is essential.

Your responsibilities will be:

Undertake bookkeeping for clients as required and compilation of management accounts as a result of the bookkeeping if requested.
Manage a portfolio of clients to prepare sets of accounts for sole traders, private Ltd companies and partnerships.
Compile VAT and CIS returns.
Assisting clients with general ad hoc queries.
Prepare for client meetings where appropriate and provide relevant documentation.
Attend client meetings where appropriate.
Assisting with the training and development of junior staff.
Assist the finance directors with assignments where necessary.
Follow all business policies and procedures.

About you

Accountancy practice background.
Accomplished relevant experience with Sage, Xero and Quickbooks.
Experience within a similar role delivering accounting and tax compliance services to a range of sole trader and limited company clients.
Excellent communication skills.
Able to demonstrate the ability to work independently.
Qualifications –ACCA / ACA / AAT (Qualified or Part-Qualified) or QBE (ideal but not essential).
Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
