Senior Practitioner

 Rate: £33.30 per hour umbrella

Summary

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied and complex caseload involving children, young people, and families in need of safeguarding and statutory intervention.
  
  


• Conduct thorough assessments of children's needs, parenting capabilities, and family situations.
  
  


• Develop, implement, monitor, and review care plans and interventions focused on the child's needs.
  
  


• Effectively assess and manage risks, making informed, evidence-based decisions to safeguard children.
  
  


• Prepare and present evidence for child protection conferences, legal planning meetings, and court proceedings as necessary.
  
  


• Produce high-quality assessments, reports, statements, and court documents within required deadlines.
  
  

Requirements:

  • Significant post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
    
    
  
  
  • Experience in conducting safeguarding investigations, assessments, and care planning.
    
    
  
  
  • Proven ability to manage complex child protection, child in need, and court-related cases.
    
    
  
  
  • Degree in Social Work (BA, MA, DipSW or equivalent).
    
    
  
  
  • Registration with Social Work England.
    
    
  
  
  • Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience in Children's Social Care.
    
    
  
  
  • Strong Senior Social Workers with relevant experience will also be considered.
    
    
  
  
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
    
    
  
  
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list required.
    
    
  
  
  • Ability to work within a bi-weekly payment schedule
