We are recruiting a full-time Senior Practitioner Safeguarding Coordinator. This 6 month secondment is for a registered Social Worker with a proven record of being able to work in partnership with colleagues and partners to support and manage change in safeguarding adults. You must be confident in supporting learning and reflective practice and advising on complex safeguarding enquiries.
The Quality Practice and Safeguarding Team is responsible for improving professional practice and achieving better outcomes for people and carers. It is formed of three sub teams one is primarily focussed on quality and professional practice of our safeguarding duties and the other responsible for defining supporting and improving practice of our other statutory duties. The third is focussed on support of our Safeguarding Adults Board Team. This role is for the safeguarding Co-ordinator/Senior Practitioner in the safeguarding sub team.
The role requires the successful candidate to be linked to a number of operational teams to provide support as required. A significant part of this role is to attend MARAC meetings as the representative for Adult Social Care and Health and to take forward any associated MARAC development work. You will be required to undertake planned and random audits and engage in quality assurance work to ensure good practice and learning is identified and acted on.
In addition, there will be a need to review and develop guidance to ensure statutory duties and effective practice is communicated to colleagues and partners. You will need to prepare presentations and briefings on a range of safeguarding topics, including learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews. There will also be exciting opportunities to support the work of the Safeguarding Adults Board and engage with key partner agencies to ensure there is consistency in local safeguarding practice.
