An established engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer or Principal Civil Engineer to join its Cardiff team.

This is a great opportunity for a Senior Engineer ready to take the next step into a Principal role, or an experienced Principal Engineer looking for greater responsibility and career progression.

The Role

You'll be involved in:

* Delivering civil engineering projects from concept through to completion.

* Designing highways, drainage and civil infrastructure.

* Preparing technical reports, drawings and specifications.

* Working with highway authorities and water companies on adoption procedures.

* Reviewing designs and ensuring technical quality.

* Working closely with clients, contractors and other consultants.

* Supporting and mentoring junior engineers.

* Taking increasing responsibility for project delivery and technical decisions.

Projects cover residential and commercial developments, social housing, care homes, renewable energy, industrial schemes, remediation and infrastructure across South Wales, the West of England and the wider UK.

About You

We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer with:

* Strong highways, drainage and infrastructure design experience.

* Experience working on civil engineering projects.

* Good knowledge of relevant design standards and adoption procedures.

* Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or MicroDrainage.

* Strong communication and client-facing skills.

* The ability to manage workloads and take ownership of projects.

* A current UK driving licence.

Chartered status is desirable, but applications are welcomed from candidates working towards Chartership or with equivalent experience.

For the right Senior Engineer, this role offers a clear pathway towards Principal Engineer, with support, mentoring, CPD and professional development provided.

More experienced candidates can join at Principal level and take greater responsibility for technical delivery, client relationships and team development.
