Senior Private Client Lawyer and Technical Lead

Are you a senior Private Client Lawyer with a strong technical background and a passion for complex work? Do you enjoy supporting others, leading on high-risk matters, and acting as a trusted mentor within a close-knit legal team?
CRA Consulting is working exclusively with a respected and forward-thinking private client specialist law firm in Sheffield. Due to strategic growth and an evolving caseload, we are now seeking a senior Private Client Lawyer to act as both Technical Lead and advisor to the Head of Legal.
This is a unique opportunity to take on a hybrid role - part senior fee earner, part internal consultant - where your expertise in Wills, Trusts, and Probate will directly shape client outcomes and team capability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a technically complex caseload of wills and trusts, including high-risk matters
• Take senior responsibility for complex and non-standard probate files
• Provide internal technical oversight and mentoring to less experienced team members
• Act as an advisor to the Head of Legal on risk assessment and matter acceptance
• Contribute to a culture of collaboration, learning, and exceptional client care

What We're Looking For:

• Qualified Private Client Lawyer (Solicitor, CILEX, or Licensed Probate Practitioner)
• Ideally STEP-qualified (TEP) or actively working towards qualification
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in wills, probate, and trusts, with a track record of handling complex work
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
• Confident supporting and advising more junior colleagues on technical matters
• Comfortable working independently while remaining collaborative and team-oriented
