Process Technologist / Senior Process Technologist

We are recruiting multiple Process Technologists and Senior Process Technologists for a large, established food manufacturer in Greater Manchester.
Working as part of an extensive NPD and Innovation function, you will help transfer new products from the development environment into full-scale manufacturing. This is a hands-on role involving factory trials, problem-solving and collaboration with NPD, Technical, Production and Engineering.
The role
Depending on your level of experience, your responsibilities will include:
* Planning, organising and running factory trials
* Supporting the handover of products from concept development into process
* Translating kitchen-scale recipes into commercially viable manufacturing processes
* Identifying and resolving issues during trials and production
* Establishing processing methods, product standards and factory procedures
* Ensuring products meet quality, food-safety and customer requirements
* Communicating trial outcomes and required actions to relevant departments
* Supporting products through launch and into consistent production
* Building effective relationships across NPD, Technical, Operations and Engineering
* Maintaining accurate trial documentation and project records
Process Technologist
This opportunity could suit:
* A Food Science or related graduate with a relevant industrial placement year
* Someone with at least six months’ experience running factory trials within food manufacturing
* An Assistant or Junior Process Technologist ready to take the next step
You should be confident working in a factory environment and able to communicate effectively with colleagues across different functions.
Senior Process Technologist
For the senior appointment, we are looking for someone with established process-development experience in food manufacturing.
You should have:
* Strong experience planning and leading factory trials
* A proven ability to take new products from handover through to successful launch
* Confidence troubleshooting manufacturing and product-quality challenges
* The ability to manage several projects and changing priorities
* Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder-management skills
* The confidence to make decisions and influence activity on the factory floor
* Experience supporting and developing less-experienced team members
About you
You will be practical, organised and comfortable balancing factory-based activity with the documentation required to deliver successful launches. You will enjoy solving problems and understanding how products, ingredients, equipment and processes interact at scale.
