The Opportunity

We have the opportunity for you to join our team as a Senior Process Technologist, to lead and engage with the process of taking product development from NPD handover through to launch into the market. Identify improvement opportunities with current products to consistently deliver high quality products to our customers. You will be responsible for Product Critical Path and delivery of successful launches. Some of what you can expect to be doing includes:

  • Organisation and implementation of new products, processes and changes to existing products within the business
  • Management of customer critical paths in line with the Samworth Brothers Launch Process
  • Champion products from concept to launch.
  • Manage post-trial outputs to include initiation of BOM’s, completion of product specific documentation, organisation of samples for microbiological & chemical testing, customer samples and organoleptic testing.
  • Manage post-trial meetings, capturing actions and ensuring close out of actions.
  • Engage and build positive relationships with our customers both internally and externally.
  • Create and manage pre-production agenda in conjunction with the Samworth Brothers Launch Process
  • Collaboratively work with manufacturing teams to identify process improvement opportunities with the Business and lead initiatives.

  • The successful person will need to be a self-starter with excellent project management skills and the ability to work under pressure, be flexible to work around the needs of the business, as well as have good attention to detail and IT skills.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is required and a qualification in a food science or related discipline is preferable.
  • Be able to work to strict timescales and pressures of managing the customers through sample requests, visits and email/phone call communication where needed.
  • Previous experience of managing staff is preferable.
  • Must be flexible in working hours. Typically Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pm working hours but flexibility is required including weekends and bank holidays for launches and trials.
