Senior Procurement Manager

Senior Procurement Manager - Defence Sector Electus Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a leading defence industry client to secure a Senior Procurement Manager for their Major Equipment Procurement team based in Stevenage. This is a pivotal role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, offering significant opportunities for professional growth and global engagement.

The Opportunity As a Senior Procurement Manager, you will proactively lead a small team of procurement professionals, overseeing critical supplier work packages that contribute to sophisticated sub-system equipment, services, and technology. You'll be instrumental in ensuring contractual obligations are met, driving Value for Money (VfM) solutions, and expertly managing supplier programmes and subcontracts from negotiation through to delivery. This role offers the chance to build and maintain effective relationships across multifunctional project teams and with international suppliers, playing a key part in delivering vital defence programmes.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategy and a clear vision for your team.
• Provide essential commercial and contractual advice, including guidance on export control, Offset, Industrial Participation, and Intellectual Property.
• Lead and direct your team to achieve company and project objectives.
• Manage significant supplier relationships and lead complex negotiations across various platforms and programmes.
• Offer expert advice and guidance on high-risk suppliers to senior management.

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience in Subcontract Management.
• Proven ability to negotiate effectively with a deep understanding of terms and conditions.
• Demonstrable innovation and implementation of best practice within procurement.
• A qualification in a business discipline, procurement, or supply chain, or equivalent practical experience.
• Excellent problem-solving skills within a challenging commercial landscape.
• Proficiency in reporting and collaborating with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to influence and manage multiple complex relationships.
• Adept at analysing situations, balancing risk, and communicating various possibilities.
• Significant team management and leadership experience.

Essential Requirements

• Current Government Security Clearance (SC) or eligibility for it.
• British Citizenship (dual nationals with British Citizenship are also eligible) due to specific nationality rules related to the nature of the work.

Salary and Benefits

• £50,000 - £55,000 per annum
• 21% annual bonus

This is a permanent position based in Stevenage.
