Senior Test Development Engineer
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to further develop their technical expertise within a strong R&D environment. As the team continues to grow, there will also be clear opportunities for progression into more senior roles.
In this position, you will be responsible for the design, manufacture, verification, validation, and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub-system, and system level. You will contribute to advanced technologies supporting Control Actuation Systems, Guidance Electronics, and GPS Anti-Jamming capabilities across land, sea, air, and space domains.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop functional test equipment for electronic systems Lead and support hardware and software integration, including troubleshooting activities Provide lifecycle and production support, including issue resolution and obsolescence management Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust and scalable test solutions Lead design reviews and produce high-quality technical documentation Mentor and support the development of junior engineersEssential Skills & Experience
Test development hardware design Creation of wiring schedules System interface design Working knowledge of NI LabVIEW and/or TestStand Strong technical documentation skills Experience handing over designs into production environments Excellent hardware troubleshooting capability Experience supporting and debugging system integration Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (minimum BPSS)Desirable Experience
Significant industry experience in test development Knowledge of PXI/LXI test architectures Understanding of measurement uncertainty and its application Experience with LabVIEW, CVI, TestStand, and C#
