Joint Project Manager – Ship lift Programme

This programme will lead the delivery of critical upgrade and maintenance works for the client's ship lift, a key facility supporting the UK's submarine fleet. ⚓

What You'll Do

• Lead the planning, delivery, and completion of a complex engineering upgrade and maintenance programme.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Develop and maintain integrated project schedules and performance reporting.
• Coordinate activities across multiple stakeholders, including MoD, Babcock Marine, specialist contractors, and site management teams.
• Provide project governance, progress updates, financial reporting, and risk management.
• ⚠️ Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues.
• ️ Ensure compliance with defence, health & safety, environmental, and security requirements.
• ✅ Support audits, assurance activities, and quality control processes.

Experience

What we're Looking For

• Proven experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, or maintenance projects.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience managing schedules, budgets, risks, and project governance, change control.
• Ability to operate effectively within a multi-agency and highly regulated environment.
• Knowledge of defence, nuclear, infrastructure, or heavy engineering projects is highly desirable.

Training & Qualifications

Formal project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, APM PMQ, MSP, or equivalent).

2. Security - The incumbent of this role must be a minimum of SC cleared and be a sole UK national.

3. Working arrangements – The incumbent of this role must be able to do hybrid working with the ability to attend the site 2-3 days per week and / or to meet business needs, as requested.
