Location: Remote/Home-based, with occasional attendance at Oxford offices and project sites
We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a major bridge rebuilding project, representing the client's interests throughout the full project lifecycle. The successful candidate will oversee the project from initial planning and design through to completion, ensuring the bridge is delivered to the required standards for safety, quality, sustainability and environmental responsibility. This is a senior leadership position requiring strong project management, stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with responsibility for coordinating multidisciplinary teams, contractors, engineers and local authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the bridge rebuilding project from planning and design through to completion. Manage procurement and contract management activities. Monitor project progress against key milestones, ensuring delivery remains on schedule. Identify risks, challenges and potential delays, implementing appropriate solutions to maintain project momentum. Lead multidisciplinary project teams and coordinate contractors, engineers and other professional stakeholders. Maintain effective relationships with local authorities and key project stakeholders. Represent the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure the project meets required health and safety, quality and environmental standards. Promote best practice in sustainability and project delivery. Ensure effective communication and stakeholder engagement throughout the project. Required Experience and Qualifications Extensive experience managing major infrastructure projects, particularly complex civil engineering schemes. Proven experience successfully delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget. Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills. Degree qualification in Civil Engineering, Project Management or a related discipline. Relevant professional qualifications or certifications. Strong knowledge of UK highways standards and bridge construction practices would be highly desirable. Experience working with contractors, engineers, local authorities and multidisciplinary project teams.
