The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of facilities services that support critical programmes across the site.

Day-to-day, you’ll lead the coordination and delivery of facilities services, working closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to ensure performance, efficiency, and alignment with business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing delivery of facilities services in support of project outcomes and KPIs


• Maintaining financial forecasts and managing the facility budget


• Leading stakeholder engagement across customers, suppliers and internal teams


• Supporting conflict resolution and prioritisation within the facility


• Leading financial reporting and performance tracking for the facility


• Ensuring governance and compliance with the QinetiQ Operating Framework

Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:

• Demonstrable experience in a project management role (5+ years)


• Experience managing budgets, forecasts and financial performance


• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills


• Experience using project management and financial reporting tools


• Ability to manage competing priorities and resolve conflicts effectively


• Experience working in a service delivery or operational environment

Essential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:

• APM Qualification or equivalent

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Portsdown Technology Park (PTP) site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.

It is dedicated to research and development, ensuring that complex systems are designed, integrated, and tested effectively to meet operational requirements. The facility utilises sophisticated modelling and simulation techniques to analyse and predict performance.
