Senior Proposition Manager

Avis Budget Group – International
Location: Bracknell UK (min 3 days per week). Travel to Europe on average once per month

Fluency in Spanish/ French/ Italian/ German an advantage

Role Background

We’re looking for a commercially sharp, insight-led marketer to help define why customers should choose Avis and Budget.

Reporting to the Director of Campaigns & Propositions, this role will lead the development of customer propositions for the direct-to-consumer business across Europe.

You will play a central role in shaping the “why buy from us?”—translating customer needs, behavioural insight, and competitive dynamics into clear, compelling, and commercially viable propositions.

This is a key role in building a new capability. You will help establish how proposition development works across the organisation—partnering closely with Product, Operations, Revenue Management, Digital and local markets to ensure propositions are not just compelling, but real and deliverable.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Proposition Development

  • Develop and refine customer propositions for Avis and Budget across the direct to consumer segment
  • Translate customer insight and data into clear, differentiated value propositions
  • Move beyond price-led thinking—focusing on:
    • Convenience and speed
    • Trust and peace of mind
    • Experience and premiumisation
  • Support the creation of proposition frameworks that can scale across markets

2. Customer Insight & Understanding

  • Work with the insight function to develop a deep understanding of customer needs, motivations and pain points
  • Analyse customer behaviour, booking patterns, and drop-off points to identify opportunities for growth
  • Monitor competitor propositions and market trends to ensure Avis and Budget remain differentiated and competitive
  • Help embed the voice of the customer into proposition development

3. Commercial Viability & Delivery

  • Build commercial cases for new propositions, ensuring a clear path to revenue and profitability
  • Partner with:
    • Product and Operations teams to ensure propositions are operationally deliverable
    • Revenue Management to ensure alignment with pricing and yield strategy
    • Digital teams to ensure propositions are clearly communicated and convert online
  • Support testing and rollout of new propositions across markets

4. Testing, Optimisation & Scaling

  • Design and implement test-and-learn frameworks for propositions (A/B testing, pilots, market trials)
  • Measure performance and refine propositions based on:
    • Conversion
    • Revenue uplift
    • Customer satisfaction
  • Identify successful propositions and support scaling across multiple markets

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Campaign team to ensure propositions are translated into compelling communications
    • CRM and Digital teams to ensure propositions are effectively activated across channels
    • Country teams to ensure propositions are locally relevant and executable
    • Our global HQ in New Jersey to ensure global consistency where needed

Background & Experience

  • Typically 8+ years’ experience in marketing, commercial strategy, product marketing or proposition roles
  • Experience in a direct-to-consumer environment (e.g. travel, retail, mobility, digital platforms)
  • Proven ability to:
    • Translate insight into clear, compelling customer propositions
    • Deliver commercial impact (conversion, revenue growth)
  • Strong analytical capability—comfortable working with data to identify opportunities
  • Experience working cross-functionally across product, commercial and marketing teams
