Senior QA Engineer

Birmingham, B2 5DB | 2 days per week in the office
Up to £62,000 | 10% bonus | 8% employer pension contribution

VIQU has partnered with an organisation operating within the UK’s low-carbon electricity sector to recruit a Senior QA Engineer. This is a hands-on senior position with responsibility for driving testing quality within a Scrum team while mentoring other QA Engineers and strengthening automation practices.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior QA Engineer

• Own quality and testing within your Scrum team
• Define test strategies, plans and test cases
• Design, develop and maintain automated test scripts
• Work with the Principal QA Engineer to improve automation frameworks
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Manage defects through investigation, resolution and retesting
• Deliver functional, non-functional and regression testing
• Support performance, load, security, accessibility and usability testing
• Maintain test environments, data and documentation
• Coach and mentor QA Engineers

Key Requirements of the Senior QA Engineer

• Strong commercial software testing and QA experience
• Hands-on Java and Selenium automation experience
• Experience using or designing Page Object Model frameworks
• Strong understanding of STLC and SDLC in commercial environments
• Functional and non-functional testing experience
• Commercial edge-case testing experience
• Test planning, test design and execution capability
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD
• Experience coaching and mentoring QA Engineers
• Strong debugging and analytical skills
• Willingness to complete BPSS screening

The Senior QA Engineer will receive a salary of up to £62,000, a 10% bonus and an 8% employer pension contribution, with two days per week based in the Birmingham office.
