What you'll do:

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Scotland, you will be entrusted with overseeing the cost management and contract administration aspects of diverse engineering projects. Your day-to-day activities will involve collaborating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless execution of contracts from inception through completion. You will be responsible for negotiating terms, managing claims or variations, monitoring compliance with quality assurance protocols, supporting site operations commercially, participating in safety initiatives, attending relevant training sessions for continuous improvement, coordinating with suppliers or contractors on deliverables, reporting progress accurately to project managers, and nurturing long-term client relationships through exceptional service delivery. • Administer contracts, subcontracts, and services for major projects by ensuring all processes align with organisational standards and client requirements.
• Develop and negotiate terms and conditions in accordance with the relevant forms of contract to safeguard project interests throughout the lifecycle.
• Lead claims and variations negotiations as well as contract close-outs by maintaining clear communication with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.
• Comply fully with both company-wide and client-specific quality assurance systems to uphold the highest standards of project delivery.
• Provide on-site support for project teams by offering commercial guidance that ensures timely progress and effective risk management.
• Actively participate in safety reviews and initiatives by liaising with suppliers and contractors on health and safety performance from a commercial perspective.
• Attend training sessions as required to enhance your skills and stay current with industry best practices relevant to your role.
• Liaise regularly with suppliers and contractors providing equipment packages or specialist services to ensure contracted compliance regarding deliveries and performance.
• Report progress effectively to Project Managers for related work streams while taking ownership for the timely delivery of construction contracts both 'for' and 'on behalf of' the organisation.
• Foster positive relationships with clients through professional conduct, consistent communication, and delivery of high-quality service that encourages repeat business.
