Senior Quality inspector

Job Description We are looking for a senior quality inspector for a company who manufacture test equipment for the automotive sector. You will be the go to person for all quality issues on site. My client is just starting on a journey into the hydrogen sector as well so you will play a key part in this.

You will be the sole quality person on site so will be given a chance to build a team around yourself. The role comes with a lot of responsibility but is an excellent chance to progress and develop yourself within the quality world.

In the role you will be working for a global leader within the automotive sector, my client is part of a company who have sites all over the world and close to 50,000 employees. Working for this market leader who have been going for over 90 years now you will be part of a team who design, manufacture and supply equipment for the automotive sectors. You’ll be working within a purpose built facility.

On the inspection side of things my client doesn’t manufacture components on site so you will be checking various components coming into the business from external customers. The role will also involve engineering support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques. Conduct investigations into particular quality problems so that root causes are identified and effective corrective and preventive measures are put in place. You will look to get an apprentice under yourself in the future.

You’ll be working a 37.5 hour week Monday to Friday, you get a 1.30pm finish on Fridays.

Job duties will include:
To support with Hands on quality inspection, administration, and maintenance of business processes to the expectations of the company and customers
Problem solving using a range of lean quality tools including DMAIC, 8D, 5Y, 7 wastes or similar
To assist with the improvement of organisation's internal quality culture
Non conforming reporting (NCR)
QMS
Manual and CMM inspection
Read complex engineering drawings
