Working Pattern: Hybrid (approximately three days per week in the office).
A genuine opportunity to shape the future of Quality within one of the UK’s most exciting and ambitious generics pharmaceutical businesses.
We’re delighted to be exclusively supporting an ambitious, privately owned pharmaceutical organisation as they continue an exciting period of sustained growth.
Having significantly expanded their product portfolio, secured key regulatory milestones and invested heavily in both their UK and international operations, our client is now seeking an experienced Senior Quality Manager / Responsible Person to become a key member of their leadership team.
This is much more than a traditional RP position.
The successful individual will have the opportunity to influence the direction of the Quality function, lead an expanding team across the UK and overseas, and play a pivotal role in supporting the next phase of the company’s growth. For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity for this role to develop into Head of Quality as the business continues to evolve.
The Opportunity
Working within a highly collaborative and commercially focused organisation, you’ll partner closely with senior leadership, Regulatory Affairs, Supply Chain, Commercial and Operations to ensure Quality remains central to every aspect of the business.
Operating within a virtual generics environment, you’ll lead Quality activities across multiple third-party partners whilst providing strategic direction, maintaining regulatory compliance and developing a growing Quality team.
This is a visible leadership role where you’ll have genuine influence, autonomy and the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the Responsible Person, ensuring ongoing GDP compliance.
* Lead and continuously develop the Quality Management System.
* Provide leadership across an expanding Quality function in both the UK and internationally.
* Build credibility quickly with colleagues, external partners and senior stakeholders.
* Work closely with third-party manufacturers, CMOs, Qualified Persons and other supply chain partners.
* Lead MHRA inspections, regulatory interactions and compliance activities.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Quality and Compliance.
* Support new product introductions and ongoing business expansion.
* Coach and develop members of the Quality team whilst helping shape the future structure of the department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll already understand the pace, complexity and commercial dynamics of working within the UK generics pharmaceutical sector.
We’re specifically looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with natural leadership qualities and the credibility to influence people at every level of the organisation.
You’ll ideally bring:
* Demonstrable Quality leadership experience within the UK generics pharmaceutical industry (essential).
* Current or previous experience operating as a Responsible Person.
* A strong understanding of GDP requirements together with experience supporting MIA and WDA licensed operations.
* Experience working within a virtual pharmaceutical business, collaborating with CMOs, third-party manufacturers and Qualified Persons.
* A proven track record of leading, developing and mentoring Quality teams.
* Experience managing MHRA inspections and regulatory relationships.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* The ability to build trusted relationships quickly across multiple business functions.
* A collaborative, pragmatic and commercially aware leadership style.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
Our client has built an excellent reputation for combining high standards with an entrepreneurial mindset. Despite its continued growth, the business has retained a genuinely collaborative culture where decisions are made quickly, individuals are trusted to make an impact, and senior leadership remains highly accessible.
You’ll join a successful organisation with ambitious expansion plans, an increasing product portfolio, continued investment across its international operations and a clear vision for future growth. This is an opportunity to become part of a business where your contribution will be visible, valued and influential from day one.
If you’re an experienced Quality professional from the UK generics sector looking for a role that offers genuine influence, long-term progression and the opportunity to help shape an ambitious and growing pharmaceutical business, we’d welcome a confidential conversation.
