Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will report directly to the directors and play a crucial role in managing project costs, ensuring that financial aspects are effectively controlled throughout the lifecycle of construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of cost control methods and the ability to provide accurate financial forecasts.

Duties

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labour, materials, and overheads.
• Monitor and control project budgets to ensure adherence to financial plans.
• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and identify any potential cost implications.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to provide cost advice during the design phase.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate bids from contractors.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve the best value for the company.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions related to projects.
• Provide regular reports on project costs and forecasts to senior management.

Requirements

• A degree in BSc Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management or a related field is essential.
• 5 years experience in quantity surveying or cost management within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost control techniques and practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficient in using quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Valid UK driving license.
• CSCS card holder.
