Senior Quantity Surveyor - Planned Maintenance

Leeds - £60,000-£75,000 + Excellent Package

Your new company

Join a long-established regional main contractor, recognised for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment, and maintenance projects across the North of England. With over a century of experience and a strong reputation for professionalism and customer care, this business combines traditional values with a forward-thinking approach. You'll be joining a team that prioritises staff development, a balanced work-life culture, and a genuine commitment to social responsibility and sustainability.

Your new role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to lead the commercial management of planned maintenance contracts across residential and mixed-use properties in Leeds and the surrounding area. This pivotal position will play a key part in upholding commercial controls and ensuring smooth project delivery within framework and partnership models.

Responsibilities will include:

Overseeing all commercial and financial aspects of planned maintenance contracts from pre-contract through to final account.

Preparing and managing detailed budgets, cost plans, and valuations; ensuring projects are delivered against targets.

Leading procurement processes, appointing and managing subcontractors and suppliers.

Monitoring and reporting on cost and value, conducting monthly CVRs, and supporting accurate cashflow forecasting.

Managing variations, early warnings, compensation events, and claims; administering contracts and payment cycles.

Fostering collaborative working relationships with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners.

Mentoring and supporting less experienced commercial staff within the commercial team.

What you will need to succeed:

Proven experience in a Senior Quantity Surveyor or similar commercial lead role within planned maintenance, social housing, or property refurbishment environments.

Demonstrable background in contract administration, particularly with JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.

Strong cost management, negotiation, and reporting skills, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively, demonstrating leadership and initiative.

A relevant qualification (HND, degree or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or a related field.

Full UK driving licence.

What you get in return:

A competitive salary of £60,000-£75,000 per annum (DOE) plus a comprehensive benefits package.

Genuine opportunities for career progression within a supportive and stable environment.

Access to a well-structured development pathway, including mentoring and professional training support.

A dynamic, people-focused workplace culture that values work-life balance, diversity, and employee wellbeing.

The chance to make a real impact on high-profile local projects with a respected and values-driven contractor.
