Senior Quantity Surveyor

Wood is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the Wood Applied Intelligence team supporting the System Optimization business delivering control and automation solutions to a variety of customers

Although the role can be based anywhere in the UK the candidate will be expected to travel to meet colleagues and / or customers as and when required

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Promotes safe working practices within commercial function
• Ensures effective commercial co - ordination of assigned projects in accordance with all relevant Wood commercial policies and procedures
• Ensures project invoicing is carried out in accordance with terms and conditions of contract and that the cash position is on plan or better
• Submission of variation and contract amendment requests and claims in accordance with contract requirements (where required)
• Ensures risk management techniques are applied on project
• Supports implementation of the Tender Governance Process within assigned project / sub business unit
• Liaises with various internal customers with regards to commercial management, risk reviews, corporate reporting and contractual discussions
• Liaises and mentors various internal customers (Contract / Project Managers / Engineers) in all areas of commercial management, problem solving and dispute resolution with clients

• Degree qualified or demonstrable equivalent experience in a relevant Commercial role
• Ideally experience of NEC3 and NEC4 contracts
• Good experience in a similar leadership / management role or professional qualification is desirable
• Effective communication skills including the ability to give presentations / reports to all levels including external stakeholders
• Proficient IT Skills, with a strong working knowledge of Excel and Word as a minimum
• Commercial acumen
