Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client are a young Independent Connection Provider (ICP) who are growing quickly and are now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to become a key part of that journey.

This isn't a role where you'll inherit years of established processes. Instead, you'll have the opportunity to shape the commercial function from the ground up, implementing your own ideas and helping to build a department that supports the business as it continues to grow.

Initially, you'll take ownership of the commercial aspects of their HV and LV new connections projects, working closely with the operational team to ensure projects remain commercially successful from handover through to final account. As the business expands, the role will naturally develop into a Commercial Manager position where you'll play a significant role in commercial strategy, developing processes, and building the commercial team around you.

You'll be responsible for:

* Taking ownership of project commercials from handover through to final account.

* Working with Project Managers to produce budgets, cost plans and cashflow forecasts.

* Monitoring project costs against tender allowances and identifying commercial risks and opportunities.

* Managing variations, compensation events and change control.

* Producing valuations, applications for payment and supporting final account settlement.

* Helping shape the future commercial function as the business continues to grow.

You’ll need:

* Experience working for an ICP, IDNO or DNO.

* A background in Quantity Surveying or commercial management within electrical connections.

* To be comfortable taking ownership and making commercial decisions.

* To want to influence the direction of a growing business rather than simply maintain existing processes.

The role offers a hybrid working arrangement between home and the company's Cambridgeshire office, alongside a starting salary of up to £85,000 plus package.
