The Opportunity Given recent and forecasted growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen to have the chance of joining a well-established UK engineering business, as an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor, located in Warrington.
Your duties and responsibilities will be Reporting directly to the Head of Commercial for Projects, Engineering and Automation Responsible for delivering best-in-class contract controls, coupled with P&L performance across the Projects, which has designated multi-disciplinary services. Accountable for the commercial and cost management of a project or programme of the project from inception to close out, ensuring that maximum efficiencies are obtained and full compliance with all governance procedures is achieved. Will also work closely with Technical, Project Management and Project Controls teams. Compilation / Submission of Requests for Payment (RFP) monthly, including dealing with client queries. Issue of Early Warning notifications & co-ordination of responses to client issued EW’s. Initial T&C review of purchase orders, contract agreements, LOI. Internal Cost & Value / P&L financial reports. Tracking of Earned Value & Productivity / Efficiency rates. Work with Planner to cost or resource load programmes. Issue of associated Sales Invoices in a timely manner. Update of Cost Forecasts vs Agreed Target Cost. Pricing of Compensation Event Quotes. Updates of CE & Early Warning Registers. Assisting Commercial Manager with Board Report commercial slides. Review SAP cost postings & highlight anomalies. Auditing Sub-subcontractor valuations. Weekly review of hours in MPower vs project timesheets. Calculation of ‘Star Rates’ for extra work. Check cost bookings in SAP & journal transfer misallocations. Ensure Contract compliance.You will have the following qualifications & experience Previous Commercial Training NEC 4 Option A & C & D (Contractor and Subcontract) Experience in Change Control (Fixed Price, SOR) Msc or Bsc in Construction Experience in ACostE Confident is the use of MS Excel & PowerPoint. Experience in SAP.
