Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) – Take Commercial Control
We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to step into a key commercial leadership role within a thriving regional civils business, driving performance across a large civils framework.

Hit the ground running
Your first challenge? A large highways project starting soon. It's complex, and high-impact. You’ll be front and centre, shaping delivery from the outset.
This is a predominantly site-based role, so if you thrive in the action and want visibility on what you deliver, this is for you.
As SQS, you’ll take full commercial ownership across the framework — from early engagement through to final account:
* Lead commercial delivery of highways schemes to maximise profitability and performance
* Own budgets, forecasting, CVRs, and cash flow with confidence and accuracy
* Take charge of NEC contract management – early warnings, compensation events, change control
* Procure and manage subcontractors within a true self-delivery environment
* Drive value engineering and efficiency across projects and the wider framework
* Be the go-to commercial lead for the client, building strong, trusted relationships
* Mentor and support junior team members
* Work side-by-side with delivery teams to align commercial strategy with site performance

About you
You’re not just experienced — you’re confident taking ownership:
* Proven Senior QS (or strong QS ready to step up) in civil engineering / highways
* Track record of delivering end-to-end commercial management
* Strong NEC contract expertise (essential)
* Skilled in forecasting, cost control, and change management
* Confident managing clients and stakeholders
* Commercially sharp with strong negotiation skills
* Experience in a self-delivery / principal contractor environment (desirable)
