Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor – £8m Commercial Refurbishment

🔶 Freelance contract | 12 months | Site-based

An established construction business is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to take commercial ownership of an £8m commercial refurbishment project.

This is a hands-on role covering pre-construction through to completion, with significant externals, roofing, façade and refurbishment works alongside CAT A office fit-out.

🔶 Key responsibilities:

* Review designs and existing conditions to establish the required scope of works

* Build accurate budgets and costs during the pre-construction phase

* Take full commercial control once the project moves into construction

* Prepare tender packages and assess subcontractor returns

* Select and recommend subcontractors and place purchase orders

* Manage variations, valuations, payments and cost reporting

* Review and administer the main contract

* Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team

🔶 Experience required:

* Senior QS / Commercial Manager background within construction

* Strong commercial refurbishment and externals experience

* Proven knowledge of roofing, façades and building construction

* D&B commercial office / CAT A fit-out experience

* Comfortable being fully site-based and owning the project commercially
